Greek Cuisine

Without a doubt the highlight of the three-day festival, is the delicious array of mouth watering time-honored delicacies that will satisfy any appetite. Weeks prior to the event, several dozen church volunteers work to hand-prepare favorite dishes, which are also available to take home.

Indoor Dining Hall

Chicken Dinner. One-half chicken baked Greek style served with rice pilaf, Greek style green beans, and small salad.

Lamb Shank Dinner. Lamb shank cooked with Greek seasoning, garlic and lemon, served with Greek style green beans, rice pilaf, and small salad.

Pastitso. Layered, baked macaroni with a seasoned tomato-cinnamon meat sauce topped with creamy béchamel sauce.

Moussaka. Layered eggplant and potatoes with seasoned meat sauce topped with creamy béchamel sauce.

Spanakopita. Spinach, onions, cheeses, and herbs that are rolled inside crispy,flaky,buttered filo.

Dolmathes. Grape leaves stuffed with ground beef, rice and herbs.

Ala Carte. Salad Cheese and olives:

 

 

Outdoor Dining

Lamb Cooking[1] Chicken or Lamb Gyro. Grilled chicken or sliced lamb topped with tomatoes, onions and tzatziki sauce (Greek cucumber yogurt sauce).

Greek Sausage (Loukaniko)/Hotdog. Grilled and topped with your favorite condiment and wrapped in a bun.

Greek Fries. Deep fried potatoes seasoned to perfection with a combination of Greek spices and topped with a special sauce and feta cheese.

Saganaki (flaming cheese). Flameed fried cheese whose flames are extinguished with a squeeze of fresh lemon. Served with pita bread. OPA!

Barbeque Lamb on the Spit. Seasoned and roasted. sold by the pound.

Lamb Pita. Roasted lamb served in a pita bread topped with tomatoes, onions and tzatziki sauce..

Pastries

Greek Pastries Baklava. Delicate layers of buttered filo pastry, spices, and chopped walnuts, drizzled with honey syrup.

Koulourakia. Butter-based pastry, traditionally hand shaped, topped with egg glaze. Commonly eaten with morning coffee or afternoon tea.

Kourambiedes. Buttered cookies topped with powdered sugar. Known as the national cookie of Greece; served at Christmas and New Year’s Day and on special occasions.

Melomakarona. A spice cookie soaked in a honey syrup, popular throughout Greece during Christmas. Topped with chopped walnuts.

Ravani. A moist and flavorful semolina cake with a sweet syrup flavored with orange zest.

Karithopita. A lightly spiced walnut cake drizzled with a honey lemon syrup.

Galaktoboureko. Layers of filo dough that sandwich a fabulous custard filling and drizzled with honey syrup.

Paximadia. Greek biscotti. Great with your morning coffee!.

Tsourekia. Traditional sweet Greek bread.

Baklava Sundae. Hand dipped vanilla ice cream with pieces of baklava in rich honey syrup.

Loukoumades. Dough puffs are deep-fried to a golden brown, then drizzled with honey syrup and sprinkled with cinnamon.
